Short verdict

Good fit for

Organisations that mainly send newsletters to a large list and want to keep their data and support in the Netherlands.

Less suited to

Freelancers (zzp) who want to pay monthly; MailCamp only works with annual licences from €55 per month.

Key facts

  • Essential from €55 per month billed annually, up to 5,000 emails
  • Hosted in the Netherlands at DuoCast, ISO 27001 certified
  • Automations and phone support only from Premium (€79)

What is MailCamp?

MailCamp is email marketing software from MailCamp B.V. in Haarlem. You create newsletters and campaigns with templates and segments, and in Premium also automations and A/B tests. You pay by the number of emails you send, not by the number of contacts. According to its trust centre, MailCamp is hosted in the Netherlands at DuoCast, with the sending software at DigitalOcean within the EEA and backups at TransIP in Germany. The company is covered by an ISO 27001 group certificate, and you request the data processing agreement by email.

Good: because you pay per email sent, a large list that you rarely mail does not cost much. Support is in Dutch, and by phone in Premium.

Less good: you are tied to an annual licence, and Essential has no automations and no extra users. API access and the AFAS integration cost extra each month.
