What is Supercut?
Supercut is a screen recorder for business video messages from Float Labs Limited in England. You record your screen and camera with the app for Mac or Windows, or with the Chrome extension, and share a link straight away. Every recording automatically gets a transcript (in 110 languages), a summary and chapters, and viewers can ask questions of an AI assistant. You import Loom videos with a link or a whole folder at once.
According to Supercut, core storage is at AWS in Ireland by default. The sub-processor list also shows that video files go to Mux in the US for streaming, and that transcription and AI features (Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Google Gemini) run in the US. For transfers outside the EU, Supercut uses standard contractual clauses. You request a data processing agreement through support; Supercut lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 on every plan.
According to the payment terms, you pay by credit or debit card. You can cancel at any time, and your plan then runs until the end of the billing period; money already paid is not refunded. Without a subscription your videos stay, but sharing, downloading and uploading are paused.
Good: a transcript, summary and chapters with every video, a trial without a credit card, and prices in euros excl. VAT.
Less good: no free plan, videos and audio go to the US for streaming and AI, and you can only pay by card.

More about data in the EU →Data processing agreement: Yes
If you record customer data and put the video in the tool's cloud, the vendor processes it for you and you need a data processing agreement. If everything stays local on your computer, that matters less.
