What is Rkassa?
Rkassa is a point-of-sale system from RKASSA B.V. in Breda, which has developed its own software since 2004. There are versions for retail, fashion (with sizes, colours and a size grid) and bookshops, plus software for wholesalers. You work in the browser on a tablet, laptop or PC, or with the Windows till behind the counter, with receipt printer, scanner, cash drawer and a card terminal link with CCV or MultiSafepay. According to Rkassa, your data is on servers in the Netherlands and is backed up daily. The site does not mention a data processing agreement.
Good: a fixed price per branch, cancellable monthly, with Dutch-language support from Breda. Rkassa integrates with five webshop platforms, including Bol.com, and posts daily turnover per VAT rate automatically to Exact Online, SnelStart or e-Boekhouden.nl.
Less good: on top of the subscription you pay €450 one-off for installation, and the webshop and accounting integrations cost €40 and €35 per month plus one-off setup fees. The site mentions no trial, only a free 30-minute demo.
