Phone system in Microsoft Teams: a paid add-on for calls over the public telephone network.
Microsoft Teams Phone is the phone system (PBX) of Microsoft Teams. According to Microsoft it is an add-on to Teams: the licence gives users extra calling features, such as auto attendants and call queues, but the phone numbers and access to the public telephone network come from a separate PSTN subscription. Microsoft Corporation is based in Redmond (United States) and is publicly listed. For Microsoft 365 customers whose sign-up location is in the EU or EFTA, Microsoft describes the EU Data Boundary, within which customer data is stored and processed in the EU. We could not establish from Microsoft’s pages whether that boundary also covers Teams Phone and the PSTN connection, or whether a data processing agreement applies to this service. We do not list prices, because we could not open the Dutch pricing page.
