What is Ploi?
Ploi is a product of WebBuilds B.V. in Nijkerk. You connect a server from a provider such as Hetzner, DigitalOcean or UpCloud, or your own VPS, and Ploi installs the software, sets up sites, handles SSL certificates through Let’s Encrypt and deploys your code. It is optimised for Laravel, but WordPress, Statamic, Craft CMS and Node.js work too. There are also status pages, DNS management, teams and a mobile app. According to the footer, Ploi is made in the Netherlands and hosted in Europe.
Good: the free plan is enough for one server with one site, and the paid plans can be cancelled per month. According to the terms, purchases are refundable within 14 days.
Less good: the site and documentation are in English. Ploi does not mention a data processing agreement anywhere on the site, and server costs come on top of the subscription.
