Independent: paid links never change the order. Every fact checked with the vendor.

How we review

Corrections and reviews

Prices and terms change, and we make mistakes too. This is how you report them, how we check them and how you see what we changed.

How to report an error

At the bottom of every tool page is Something not right? with two buttons: Report an error and Suggest an alternative. Next to the price and the Netherlands check there is also a link that opens the form straight away. You do not need to log in. An email address is not required; if you give one, we only use it if we have a question about your report.

A link to the vendor's page that shows the correct information helps us fastest.

Within 5 working days

We check every report within 5 working days.

If the report is correct, we update the page in the same round. If we cannot verify something, we set the fact to Unknown instead of guessing. If the report is not correct, the page stays as it is. If we had a question and you gave an email address, we email you.

What we check

  • Always at the source. We look at the vendor's official website, terms or privacy statement. A report alone is not enough.
  • Only facts. Prices, the points of the Netherlands check, integrations and the headquarters. Every fact has a check date on the page.
  • Badges follow automatically. A badge comes from the facts. If a fact changes, the badge changes with it; we never change it separately.
  • A verdict is ours. A rating only changes when we assess the tool again, not because someone disagrees with it.

What we changed

If we change something after a report, the tool page shows it under Corrected after a report, with the date and what changed. A regular check, without a report, is shown by the date at Checked on.

We have not yet recorded any corrections after a report.

For makers

Do you work at a tool and is something wrong? Report it the same way, or confirm the facts via the badge page. Your report gets the same period and the same check as a reader's: not faster, not slower. We only change what we can verify on your own website. If it is not there yet, we wait until it is.

An interview with a maker is not a review. It does not change a verdict or a badge.

User reviews

  • You log in with Google or GitHub. We do not store an email address, only a short name such as "Jan V.".
  • One review per person per tool. If you edit it, we read it again before it goes back online.
  • We read every review before publishing. We refuse advertising, insults, personal data and reviews that are not about the tool. We do not refuse a negative review because it is negative.
  • Reviews do not count towards our verdict, the total score or the badges.

Paying changes nothing

A maker cannot pay for faster or different handling of a report, for removing a review or for a different fact. A sponsored placement or a fee per click does not change the facts, the Netherlands check, the badges or the verdict either. More about this inhow we earn money.
