What is Mailchimp?
Mailchimp is an email marketing tool from The Rocket Science Group LLC in Atlanta (US), part of Intuit. You send newsletters, build automations and connect your web shop to respond to purchases. The data processing agreement (DPA) is part of the terms of use and says that Mailchimp may transfer customer data to the United States and elsewhere, based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. The DPA does not mention a choice of storage in the EU.
Good: the free plan is permanent, and there are ready-made integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce and Lightspeed, among others.
Less good: support, help centre and the app are available in six languages, but not in Dutch. The dollar price is leading, so the euro amount on your invoice depends on the exchange rate.
