    What is Firecrawl?

    Firecrawl is a web data API from SideGuide Technologies, Inc. (trading as Firecrawl), an American company from Delaware. You give a URL or search query and get the pages back as Markdown or structured JSON, ready for a language model. Firecrawl can also crawl whole sites, read PDFs and monitor pages. The source code is on GitHub, so self-hosting is possible too.

    According to the privacy statement, the servers are in the US and your data is stored there. A data processing agreement (DPA) is listed on the pricing page for Standard and up; Hobby does not have one. Firecrawl mentions SOC 2 Type II for all plans.

    Good: the free plan is permanent and you do not need to give a credit card. There are SDKs for Python, Node.js, Go and Rust, and integrations with LangChain, n8n and Zapier.

    Less good: prices are in dollars and Firecrawl does not mention an EU region. Anyone who needs a data processing agreement is tied to Standard ($83 per month billed annually).
