What is Twelve?

Twelve is a Dutch point-of-sale company, founded in 2007, with an office in Amsterdam and a branch in Berchem (Belgium); Centric holds a majority stake. You use Twelve for tills, handhelds, kiosks, QR ordering and kitchen screens, and you link card terminals from Adyen, CCV, Mollie and Rabobank, among others. Twelve publishes a data processing agreement with its terms. It says that Twelve may use sub-processors outside the EU if there is an adequate level of protection; Twelve does not name a storage location.

Good: one system for till, handheld and self-ordering, with a Dutch-language helpdesk and a Dutch phone number.

Less good: prices and card rates are nowhere on the site. The data processing agreement allows sub-processors outside the EU.
