What is Shopify POS?

Shopify POS is the till from Canada’s Shopify, linked to the same account as your Shopify web shop. You sell with a smartphone or tablet and a Shopify card reader, and stock, orders and customers stay in sync with your web shop. Shopify offers a Data Processing Addendum; it states that customer data may be processed in any country where Shopify or its service providers are located, including Canada and Singapore. Shopify does not promise storage in the EU.

Good: shop and web shop share one stock and customer database, and the admin can be used in Dutch.

Less good: if you use a payment provider other than Shopify Payments, you pay 2% extra per transaction. Data may be processed outside the EEA.
