Short verdict

Good fit for

Freelancers (zzp) and SMEs who mainly want to send and receive Peppol invoices, with the accountant working remotely.

Less suited to

Anyone who wants to be sure clients pay with iDEAL; Billit only mentions Mollie, QR codes and direct debit.

Key facts

  • Peppol is in every paid plan and in the free trial
  • From €7.50 per month up to 25 documents
  • Cloud storage at AWS in Ireland according to the sub-processor list

What is Billit?

Billit is invoicing software from Billit NV in Ghent. You create and send invoices and credit notes, receive purchase invoices and exchange e-invoices via Peppol; your accountant gets free access through their own portal. According to the list of sub-processors, cloud storage runs at Amazon Web Services in Ireland, with TransIP in the Netherlands and Microsoft in Ireland alongside. Billit has a data processing agreement (Data Processing Agreement) online.

Good: Peppol is in every plan at no extra cost. There is free help by phone, help centre and workshops in your own language, also with a Dutch phone number.

Less good: the plan prices above the entry plan are not given as an amount on the pricing page. Billit does not say in so many words whether you get iDEAL on the invoice via Mollie.
