Short verdict

Good fit for

Companies that have documents signed internationally and want to identify signers with iDIN or QES.

Less suited to

Anyone who sends a lot on a small budget; envelopes are limited per plan and AES goes through sales.

Key facts

  • Personal €14 per month, 5 envelopes
  • Qualified signature €10 per recipient
  • European storage region selectable when creating the account

What is Docusign?

Docusign is an American signing platform. You send documents as envelopes, with templates, reminders and an audit trail; in the Business Pro plan you can also receive payments during signing. Simple signatures are in every plan, a qualified signature (QES) is an add-on of €10 per recipient and advanced (AES) goes through sales; for the identity check of Dutch signers, Docusign supports iDIN via ID Verification. Agreement data stays in the European region if you choose it when creating the account, and Docusign has a Data Protection Attachment as its data processing agreement.

Good: all eIDAS levels and iDIN are possible, and there are many integrations.

Less good: the cheapest plans have an envelope limit (5 per month with Personal), and AES, QES and identity checks cost extra.
