What is Hootsuite?
Hootsuite is a social media tool from Hootsuite Inc. in Vancouver (Canada). You schedule posts for all your accounts in one calendar, answer messages and comments in a shared inbox, follow what is said about your brand and make reports. Hootsuite itself mentions more than 100 integrations with other tools. The package is built for teams; the more expensive plans add automation and more accounts.
According to the privacy statement, the services are managed from the head office in Canada, a country that the European Commission considers to offer adequate protection. Hootsuite also uses external hosting parties; for transfers to the US, the Data Privacy Framework or the EU model clauses apply. Hootsuite does not say exactly where your data is stored. Customers get a data processing agreement (DPA) for the GDPR.
Good: everything for social media in one package, with many integrations. A data processing agreement is available.
Less good: expensive for small businesses, no free plan, and prices apply per user and with annual billing. During the free trial you cannot schedule in bulk.
