    Short verdict

    Good fit for

Freelancers (zzp) and small teams who want to schedule many channels with AI and an API, or who want to host the software themselves.

    Less suited to

Anyone looking for a permanently free cloud plan or who wants to be sure data is in the EU.

    Key facts

    • Cloud from $29 per month, 7-day free trial
    • Open source under AGPL-3.0, self-host with Docker
    • Data processing agreement on request, with EU model clauses

    What is Postiz?

Postiz is a social media planner from Gitroom Limited in Hong Kong, together with the American Gitroom LLC. You write a post once and put it on several channels at the same time, such as LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and Bluesky, with AI help for texts, images and short videos. Every plan has an API, webhooks and an MCP server, so you can also schedule through an AI assistant. Postiz is open source: the software is on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0 licence and you can run it for free on your own server with Docker. Then you handle installation, updates, backups and the app approvals at each social network yourself.

Postiz is not based in the EU and has appointed an EU representative in Germany. According to the privacy statement, the cloud service is hosted at Railway (US); for transfers outside the EU Postiz uses the Data Privacy Framework or the EU model clauses. Postiz signs a data processing agreement on request. If you host it yourself, you decide where the data is stored.

Good: many channels, including less common ones such as Mastodon and Reddit, and an API in every plan. Self-hosting is free.

Less good: no permanently free cloud plan, prices in dollars, and the Standard plan has no team members. Self-hosting takes technical knowledge.

    The Netherlands check

Useful if you run a business in the Netherlands. "Unknown" means we could not verify it.

    • Support in Dutch: Unknown

You would rather ask a question in Dutch, to someone who knows how things work in the Netherlands.

    • App in Dutch: Unknown

An app in Dutch is quicker to use and avoids mistakes, also for colleagues who read less English.

    • Data in the EU: Unknown

A scheduler stores your posts, statistics and access to your accounts, and often customer messages from your inbox too. If that is in the EU, you have less to check about transfers.

More about data in the EU →
    • Data processing agreement: Yes

If you reply to comments and private messages through the tool, or manage accounts for clients, the vendor processes personal data for you and you need a data processing agreement.

More about the data processing agreement →
    • Company in the Netherlands: No

A Dutch company falls under Dutch law. For some businesses that matters, for example in a dispute.
