What is Microsoft Forms?
Microsoft Forms is the form and survey tool from Microsoft Corporation in Redmond (US); for users in the EEA, Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited is responsible. You create forms, polls and quizzes, see the results immediately and export them to Excel. Forms is available in Dutch and works with a personal Microsoft account or with a business Microsoft 365 account.
For business use, Forms runs through Microsoft 365. According to Microsoft, data of European tenants is stored on servers in Europe, for tenants in the EU or EFTA in the EU/EFTA region. The processing terms are in Microsoft’s Data Protection Addendum. For personal accounts, Microsoft does not name a storage location.
Good: with a personal account you pay nothing, and in Microsoft 365 Business Basic Forms is already in the price. Business data stays in Europe.
Less good: with a personal account you have no data processing agreement, and Microsoft names no storage location. Microsoft does not mention payments as a feature of Forms.
