What is Superhuman?
Superhuman is an email app from Superhuman Platform Inc. in San Francisco (US), the company formerly called Grammarly. The app is built to get through your email fast, with keyboard shortcuts, a split inbox for colleagues, important senders and tool notifications, and reminders when someone does not reply. The AI sorts your inbox, writes drafts and on the Business plan can prepare replies automatically. If you want to stay in Gmail or Outlook, Superhuman also offers a separate Email Assistant that works there.
According to the data processing agreement (superhuman.com/dpa), the service runs on AWS or Google Cloud in the US and Superhuman may also process data elsewhere where it and its subprocessors are located. For transfers from the EU, Superhuman uses the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, with standard contractual clauses as a fallback. There is an EU representative in Ireland.
Good: faster work in a busy inbox, with AI drafts and follow-up reminders built in.
Less good: no free plan, prices in dollars, and your email runs through servers in the US.
