What is VoiceOS?
VoiceOS is a dictation and voice assistant from WakoAI Inc. in Sausalito (US). You talk instead of typing, in any app on your Mac or Windows PC, and VoiceOS removes filler words, improves the grammar and lays out the text neatly. In Agent Mode it runs tasks by voice, such as sending a message or looking something up. The site mentions 100 languages but does not say which; whether Dutch works well is best tested yourself during the trial.
According to the site, your audio is not stored on VoiceOS servers and not used to train models, unless you give permission yourself. Transcripts are on your own device. The privacy statement names AWS and Supabase as service providers, but no country or region, and does not mention the GDPR. Only Enterprise customers can request a data processing agreement.
Good: works in all your apps, with a one-week trial, and your audio is not stored, according to the site.
Less good: no free plan, no DPA for regular customers and no information about where your data is stored.
