    Less suited to

Anyone who expects a Dutch VAT return, a direct bank feed with a Dutch bank or Peppol in the plan.

    Key facts

    • Prices in dollars only, from $32 per month
    • No open banking feed with Dutch banks; you import statements yourself
    • Data with cloud providers in the US

    What is Xero?

Xero is accounting software from Xero Limited in Wellington (New Zealand). You create invoices and quotes, process purchase invoices, reconcile bank transactions and view reports. There is no Dutch version: the region choice on the site does not include the Netherlands, and outside the countries with their own version you pay in dollars. Xero does not mention a Dutch VAT return or Peppol for the Netherlands. According to a Xero employee (July 2025), the open banking feeds in the EU only cover Denmark and Ireland; for ABN AMRO, for example, you import statements yourself. You can link Stripe, PayPal and Wise directly. All cloud providers on the list of sub-processors are in the US. The Data Processing Addendum is part of the terms of use.

Good: more than 1,000 integrations in the app store, and direct feeds from Stripe, PayPal and Wise. You can try it free for 30 days.

Less good: no Dutch VAT return, no bank feed with Dutch banks and no data in the EU. Xero does not mention a Dutch interface or support, and prices are in dollars only.
