What is Yoast SEO?
Yoast SEO is a plugin for WordPress from Yoast BV in Wijchen, founded in 2010 by Joost de Valk. While you write, the plugin checks your text for your keyword and for readability, and handles technical matters such as titles, sitemaps and structured data. The readability analysis also works for Dutch; Premium also recognises Dutch word forms and helps with internal links.
According to Yoast, the analysis runs on your own site and the plugins do not process, collect or store personal data on Yoast servers. That is why, according to Yoast, no data processing agreement is needed. If you do send Yoast data about other people, Yoast wants to sign a data processing agreement first.
Good: the free version is enough for most small sites, and the Dutch language analysis comes from a Dutch company.
Less good: it only works in WordPress (there is also a separate Shopify app). You have to get keyword volumes and competitor research somewhere else.
