What is Lightspeed eCom?
Lightspeed eCom (C-Series) is the web shop platform of the Canadian Lightspeed Commerce, which operates in the Netherlands through Lightspeed Netherlands B.V. in Amsterdam. You manage products and stock, sell in multiple languages and extend the shop with apps for payments, shipping and accounting, such as Mollie, Sendcloud, MyParcel and Exact Online. You offer iDEAL through Lightspeed Payments or an external payment provider. Lightspeed offers a Dutch-language data processing agreement; it states that transfers to Canada go through the adequacy decision, but not where the data of Dutch customers is stored. The subprocessor list names AWS and Google as hosting for eCom.
Good: the help centre and the chat are in Dutch, and Lightspeed charges no transaction fees of its own if you use an external payment provider.
Less good: the entry plan is relatively expensive and has email support only. We did not find a dedicated bol.com integration in the app store; you arrange shipping labels through apps such as Sendcloud and MyParcel.
