What is Chatbase?
Chatbase is an AI chatbot from Chatbase Inc. in San Francisco (US). You feed the bot your own website, documents and frequently asked questions, and put it on your site as a chat window or connect it to WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. Integrations with Shopify, Slack, Calendly and WordPress are already in the Hobby plan.
According to the privacy policy, data is processed and stored in the US, with the database at AWS in the us-east-1 region. Transfers from the EEA go through the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. The data processing agreement (Data Processing Addendum) is on the site and is part of the terms you accept when signing up.
Good: you quickly have a working chatbot that answers from your own content, and WhatsApp is already in the cheapest plan.
Less good: prices are in dollars and only for annual payment, there is no free plan, and your data is in the US. Chatbase does not say whether the app is in Dutch.
