What is Tidio?
Tidio is live chat and an AI chatbot (Lyro) from Tidio LLC in San Francisco (US), with Tidio Poland in Szczecin as a second party. You put a chat window on your site and answer messages from the chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram and email in one place. Lyro answers questions itself and, according to Tidio, also speaks Dutch. The dashboard is available in English, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
According to the FAQ, Tidio runs on AWS in data centres in the EU and all data is on servers in the EEA. The privacy policy says some data may go to the US, because Tidio LLC is an American company; that falls under the Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. The data processing agreement is in the terms, and you can have a separate version signed.
Good: there is a permanent free plan with WhatsApp, and according to Tidio data is in the EEA.
Less good: prices are in dollars without a clear billing period, and the dashboard is not in Dutch. You pay for Lyro separately.
