What is Watermelon?
Watermelon is an AI customer service platform from Watermelon B.V. in Utrecht. You build an AI agent that answers questions through your website chat, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, email and even the phone, with a shared inbox for what the AI does not solve. For web shops there are integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce, Lightspeed, Sendcloud and Picqer, among others, so the agent can, for example, look up an order status.
The data processing agreement (Data Processing Agreement) is part of the main agreement and applies once you accept it. It says that Watermelon mainly hosts and processes personal data in the European Economic Area, with exceptions listed in the Trust Center or needed for certain features. According to Watermelon, your data is only used to improve your own AI agent, not to train models.
Good: a Dutch company with prices in euros, a free plan to test an agent and many integrations with Dutch web shop software.
Less good: Pro costs €299 per month and the site only names the price with annual payment. Which sub-processors are outside the EEA you have to check yourself in the Trust Center. Watermelon does not state Dutch-language support in so many words.
